Robert Luxama is a multi-disciplinary artist born in Haiti and raised in his youth in Dominican Republic who inspires into the sublime of mystical anecdotes from folklore and mythology, as well as identity, biodiversity and the climate change to create narrative painting and drawing. He has been a member of the National Society of Fine Arts of Santiago, Chile in 2015 and 2016.

Robert's works are categorized as figurative art, mainly through magical realism, mixing with academicism and symbolism. His most recurrent pictorial genres are narrative painting, mixed with landscapes, reinvented genre scenes, portraits and still lifes in an atmosphere that evokes the supernatural and the sublime from the intellect to elevate the spirit, leaving in doubt the real and the imaginary as something magical and cosmic.

He started painting as a self-taught before he emigrate to Dominican Republic where he started taking drawing classes at the Provincial Art School in the city of Bani in 2003. One year later, in 2004, he started his formal art studies at the National School of Visual Arts of Santo Domingo and graduated in 2008 winning eight honorable mentions and awards in drawing, painting and printmaking; as well as the First Prize for Landscape Painting at the Santo Domingo International Book Fair and the third Prize for Portrait Painting in 2007. His work won a place in the hearts of many Dominican and Haitian diaspora collectors, as well as in the Governmental Sectors, NGOs, Film Producers for his creator capacity, where he also worked artistic director for film, painter, designer, muralist, sculptor from his early years at the fine arts school.

His works have been exhibited in different museums, cultural centers, art galleries, universities and virtual museums in different places in the world, such as Santo Domingo RD, Leogane HT, Miami FL, Trinidad & Tobago, Saint Lucie Island and Santiago de Chile. He was selected at the 2007 Biennial of Visuals Arts Biennial of Bonao in Dominican Republic.
